National Instruments PCMCIA-GPIB+ GPIB Interface and Analyzer

The National Instruments PCMCIA-GPIB+ is a GPIB Interface and Analyzer. The NI PCMCIA-GPIB+ is designed for PCMCIA slots found in laptop computers. You can use this GPIB Interface and Analyzer to integrate a GPIB compatible instrument into your system. The NI PCMCIA-GPIB+ is provided with a special cable that provides connectivity between the PCMCIA-GPIB+ and the GPIB port of the device to be connected. This GPIB Interface and Analyzer is fully compatible with IEEE 488.2 and HS488. The NI PCMCIA-GPIB+ is designed as a Type II card and fully adheres to the specifications determined by version 2.1 of the PCMCIA PC card standard.  The inclusion of a National Instruments TNT family ASIC makes this device a robust GPIB interface.

This GPIB Interface and Analyzer is specially designed for low power consumption and portability. Thus, you can consider it for a variety of battery-powered applications. The NI PCMCIA-GPIB+ offers a wide range of analyzer capabilities as well. Thus, you can use your PCMCIA-GPIB+ to capture and monitor GPIB bus activity at high speeds. The 32-byte FIFO buffers data received or sent from the GPIB. This buffering of data brings a positive impact on the device’s data transfer rate.

The integrated analyzer in this device can sample at rates up to 20 MHz, while maintaining a timestamp resolution of 5 ns. This GPIB Interface and Analyzer is fully compatible with the Plug & Play standard. Thus, you can easily add or remove this device without restarting your system. The NI PCMCIA-GPIB+ comes with latching connectors to provide a powerful mechanical setup.

PCMCIA-GPIB+ Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the GPIB Interface and Analyzer will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.
